Friday 1/18/2013 Basketball Practice Schedule

The girls basketball team will be practicing right after school until 3:30 with the full use of the gym.  The girls and boys basketball team will each be using half of the gym from 3:30-4:00.  The boys basketball team will be using the gym from 4:00 - 5:00.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact rferris@stignatiusschools.org.

Dear Mission Boys Basketball Coach,

I would like to thank your players for their help when I slipped on the ice at Troy Activity Center on January 12, 2013.  I am the Troy ticket lady and had the ticket bucket in my hands when I went down.  Your gentlemen athletes were just getting off the bus and were very quick and kind in their help getting me back on my feet.  In the excitement, I wasn't sure if I properly thanked them.  Please extend to them my thanks for all their help!  It speaks well of your program to have such well mannered gentlemen.

Fall 2012-2013 Honorees

The MHSA/Army National Guard Academic All Team Award is given to the top three (3) teams that exhibit outstanding academic achievement during the school year’s first quarter of play for that activity and will be awarded to all levels of competition (varsity, junior varsity, sophomore and freshman) to each MHSA schools’ classification (AA, A, B and C).

MHSA member schools calculate their students’ accumulative average for the award. Fall selections are determined using only students who have participated in first quarter activities including Cross County, Fall Spirit, Football, AA and A Golf, Soccer, and Volleyball.

JV Basketball Schedule Time Change January 5th versus Arlee

Due to lack of numbers, the Girls JV basketball game Saturday, Jan. 5th will be played with shortened quarters.  Each  quarter will be 4 minutes instead of the normal 8 minutes.  This will allow us to still get playing time for our younger players, get some minutes for our swing players and not have to cancel the game.  The start time of the JV game will be CHANGED TO 2:00 pm.  This will have no effect on the start time for the already scheduled varsity game on Friday.  It is not an ideal situation for our program and will hopefully only be temporary. 

Varsity Basketball Schedule Change versus Arlee January 5th

The girls and boys basketball games in Arlee on January 5th will be played at the following times: 1:30/3:00/4:30/6.  The JV girls will be at 1:30, JV boys will play at 3:00 Varsity girls 4:30 and Varsity boys at 6 pm.  This is a change of schedule!!!

Friday, Jan. 4th JV Basketball Schedule Change

• Season begins January 2, 2013 and Finishes on February 9, 2013. 
• Practices will run Monday-Thursday from 3:30-5:30 pm and Fridays from 2:30-4:00pm.
• There will be NO PRACTICE on January 21st AND January 28th.
