Mission Valley Championship Results

The Mission Bulldogs hosted the Mission Valley Championships Saturday December 22^nd. The Mission Valley Championships featured a round robin tournament with Mission/ Charlo, Noxon, Plains, Thompson Falls, Eureka, Polson, Superior, Arlee, Florence, and Deer Lodge competing.  No official team score was kept, but instead wrestlers competed to remain undefeated and earn a Mission Valley Championship tee-shirt. Earning tee-shirts for Mission/Charlo were Jacen Petersen and Emilio Bravo; both went undefeated and each recorded all pins against their opponents. Steven Bravo, Isreal Lafrombois, Bridger Smith and Morgan Shultz finished the day going 3-1. It was an exciting day for us. We got plenty of complements on the format of our tournament because of the increased number of matches each wrestler got to wrestle. It was great to see Steven Bravo compete after taking nearly two weeks off due to injury and it was an exciting day for Emilio who dominated the 215 pound weight class. Bridger Smith had an outstanding tournament racking up three pins. Israel Lafrombois continues to inspire fans with an all out style and come from behind wins. In his last match Israel came from behind to earn a pin in the third period. Morgan Shultz continues to close the gap on his division rival Anthony Parkin of Superior. Jacen Petersen continues to pin his way through his competition.

Middle School Girls Basketball

Hello Lady Bulldogs,

Middle School girls basketball will begin on January 2, 2013 at 3:30 in the Elementary gym. Practices will run Monday-Thursday 3:30-5:45 pm and on Friday 2:30-4:00 pm. Our last scheduled tournament will be on February 9th in Charlo, MT.

*IMPORTANT- Please be sure to have a physical and all paperwork complete by January 2nd in order to be able to practice.

Varsity Basketball Schedule Change versus Arlee

The girls and boys basketball games in Arlee on January 5th will be played at the following times: 1:30/3:00/4:30/6.  The JV girls will be at 1:30, JV boys will play at 3:00 Varsity girls 4:30 and Varsity boys at 6 pm.  This is a change of schedule!!!

Mission Charlo Wrestlers place 3rd at Superior Invitiational

The Mission Charlo wrestlers had a great weekend placing 3rd at the Superior Invitational behind Libby, 2nd and Frenchtown, 1st. It was a great boost of confidence to our team coming off a loss to Thompson Falls  earlier in the week. Our younger wrestlers were the key to the third place finish. We had five wrestlers who were just a match away from placing and six wrestlers placed in the tournament. Jay Wadsworth, Israel LaFrombois, Pascoe Green, Kyle Couture, and Joseph Hawkins each went 2-2 while Ethan Goss, Tyler Spidel, went 1-2. In the medal rounds; Morgan Schultz placed third, pinning Ty Height from Libby in :23; Jamie Mullins placed third, pinning Jonathon Blanchard from Frenchtown in 1:27; Steven Bravo placed 4^th, losing to Robert Jennings from Cutbank by injury default; Jacen Petersen placed 1^st, pinning David Andersen from Frenchtown in 5:27; Joseph Hawkins placed 4^th, losing to William Ollinger from Browning by pin in 2:27; Emilio Bravo placed 4^th, losing to Jasen Gervais from Browning 0-4 and Barret Sargent placed 1^st, defeating Rand Pritzkau from Frenchtown 5-2. One of the highlights throughout the day was Jamie Mullins'  match in the semi-final round against last year's divisional champ, Zach Durden. Even though Jamie ended up losing the match 9-13, he came from behind and scored the last several points of the match. Barret Sargent had a great win at 215 finishing his finals match with a blast double and ending any ideas his opponent had of mounting a comeback. Jacen Petersen continues to dominate his competition, and he will only continue to improve. Overall, I was most excited to see some of our younger wrestlers stepping it up and getting pins! This means we are improving as a team, and we have high goals for our team at the end of the year.

MS Girls Basketball Sign Ups!!

Boys and Girls Basketball Practice Schedule Change

Monday, December the 10th is a middle school boys basketball make up game.  The varsity girls basketball team will have practice after school in the elementary gym and the boys basketball team will have practice in the morning before school.

Mission Charlo 36 Thompson Falls 45

In an exciting dual which came down to the final matches, the Mission Charlo wrestling team suffered a loss in it's first meet. There were several exciting matches. Steven Bravo pulled off a pin at 160 in the final seconds of the match which was simply inspirational. Jamie Mullins, Jay Wadsworth, and Kyle Couture each pick up two pins apiece. Morgan Schultz, Jacen Petersen, Emilio Bravo, and Zach Daniels also earned pins. The Mission Charlo Wrestlers take the mat again Thursday night at 6:00 p.m. against Eureka, Superior, and Plains.

Three Mission Charlo wrestlers place at Polson Invitational

Jacen Peterson placed 1st, Emilio Bravo 2nd and Steven Bravo 4th, in what is often one of the most difficult tournaments on our schedule. This is our only opportunity to face AA schools. Amid the mostly class A and AA competition were the reigning Class AA State Championship team (Glacier) as well as the reigning Class A State Championship team (Corvallis). Overall it was a pretty successful day. It was great to see several of our freshmen win some matches. We are looking forward to our home match with Thompson Falls Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m.

Home dual meet V.S. Thompson Falls Tuesday December 4th at 6:00 p.m.

We are excited showcase our Varsity and J.V. Wrestlers in their first home dual against division rival Thompson Falls. We also wrestle at home again Thursday night in a mixer with Eureka, Plains & Superior. Thursday nights mixer also begins at 6:00 p.m.
