-CROSS COUNTRY- /Mountain west classic/

The Mission Bulldogs competed at the Mountain West Classic Saturday, September 29, 2012 in Missoula, Montana.  The Bulldogs had 11 runners competing.  It was nice to run against teams from all over Montana, Idaho, and Washington.  The cross country team is eager to compete at the Arlee Cross Country Meet Thursday, October 4, 2012 in Arlee, Montana.  The girls run at 5:00 p.m. and the boys run at 5:30 p.m.

Mission versus Loyola recap

The solo bright spot on the day that ended in a 36 - 0 defeat was special teams.  The Loyola Rams had scored in every game on special teams except last Friday's. Also, the return of Nikko Alexander to long snapping duties increased the team's ability to defend a longer field.  Finally, the opening kickoff to Loyola ended in a forced fumble and fumble recovery by the Dawgs. The Dawgs look forward to going on the road to play Troy Friday night at 7:00 PM.

Mission versus Florence Football Recap

Friday night's game against a good Florence football team, ended with 44 - 20 loss.  The Falcons recovered two muffed punts within the Dawgs twenty yard line and scored on both possessions.  The second half saw the Bulldogs successfully move the ball and eventually score on two drives.  The game was a loss but the second half experience helped improve the team's overall football knowledge and experience.

The lady Bulldogs improved their overall record to 7-3 last evening with a 3 game sweep of Bigfork.  The ladies struggled a bit in the game, but persistence paid off and we ended victorious.  Great job ladies...let's keep the winning streak going!

Volleyball v Ronan and Deerlodge Recap

The lady Bulldogs had a big week last week as they gained W's in their first two conference games.  The Bulldogs looked strong taking down Ronan in 3 and then faced Deerlodge on Thursday.  The Bulldogs won the first two games in the match but started to lose their rhythm and Deerlodge was able to make a run on us beating us in the next two games.  However, the Bulldogs fought hard (with a lot of encouragement from the crowd) and finished off the Lady Wardens in the 5th game.

This was a turning point for our girls as we have battled hard but lost 2 matches that went into 5 games.  For the girls to be able finish strong showed great Integrity and Determination.  Bravo girls!!

This week the Lady Bulldogs take on Loyola in a conference match Tuesday, September 17th and travel up to Bigfork on Thursday September 19th.

Thanks for everyone's support!
NO CROSS COUNTRY MEET THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2012!

There was a mix up on the schedule so we will not be going to Thompson Falls.

Sunday, September 16, 2012

The Mission Bulldogs competed at the Ronan Cross Country Invitational Saturday, September 15, 2012 in Ronan, Montana.  The Bulldogs had all 12 runners competing and every one of them had personal records.  Paden Alexander got third place behind Flathead's Zach Perrin and Hellgate's Adam Peterman.  Alexander's time was 15:19!  The cross country team is eager to compete at the Thompson Falls Rivers Bend Golf Course this Thursday, September 20, 2012 in Thompson Falls, Montana.  The boys run at 3:30 p.m. and the girls run at 4:00 p.m.

Mission Football versus Eureka - Recap

Mission football had a big win last Friday over the Eureka Lions.  Eureka had dominated the Dawgs in the past winning every game in the last eleven years.  The team had many big performances and again everyone suited up for the game saw some action including 18 freshman and sophomores.  Dylan Evans and Jarred Brown had stand out performances.  Dylan had three touchdown passes and one rushing touchdown while Jarred caught three touchdowns and had two pass deflections.
Next week, the Mission Bulldogs will face the Florence Falcons in Florence at 7:00 P.M. on Friday the 21st.

Mission @ Eureka

The Lady Bulldogs traveled to Eureka on Saturday, September 8th, to face the Lady Lions of Eureka.  We came out strong and won our first two games of the match.  Halfway through the third game, Eureka started to make a comeback and their experience came into effect.  The Lions (who have 11 seniors on their Varsity Squad) came together and overtook us in the last three games.

While it was a tough loss, some great things were happening on the court.  The Bulldogs had 14 blocks in the game, which is a team high for the season!  We have a lot of season left to play, and great things will come!

Cross Country - Eureka Recap

The Mission cross country team had their second meet in Eureka, Montana.  Paden Alexander, a senior at Mission High School, won the meet on the boys’ side with a time of 16:03!  He broke the course record of 16:23!  We only had two boys and one girl competing yesterday because six boys also play football (they were in Cut Bank last night) and three girls play volleyball (they were in Plains last night).  On the boys’ side Karl Daniels of Mission finished in 23:34 and Carley Elverud on the girls’ side finished in 27:05.  The cross country team is enthusiastic to compete at the Ronan golf course meet on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at noon.

High School Football

Tough loss tonight against a good Cutback football team. There were opportunities to score early and a close first half.  The Wolves experienced players and a large running back wore the DAWGS down in the second half. Final score 37 - 0.

Mission v Charlo

Last night's match between the Mission Lady Bulldogs and the Charlo Lady Vikings was well fought by our ladies.  Unfortunately we ended up coming a little short in the end and were not able to fend of the Vikings.  The Vikings are a persistent team who moved around the court very well and their defense ended up beating the Bulldogs in the end.  There were some very promising actions shown by the Bulldogs on the court and all of our girls were playing their part.  This was a great match to watch and the support from the students at the game was fantastic.

The Lady Bulldogs take on the the Eureka Lions this Saturday, September 8th in Eureka.  Bus leaves at 11am.  Please make sure to be here on time for the bus.  Go Bulldogs!

JV Football Game CANCELLATION

Lost a heart breaker to Troy Tonight in 5 games.  The girls fought hard and never gave up, persistence from these athletes is a great thing to see!  We will keep fighting and come out strong in our next game.  Speaking of next games, the Lady Bulldogs will be taking on Charlo at home on Tuesday.  Three games, 4:00, 5:30, and 7.  Hope to see everyone there...Go Bulldogs!

Varsity Football Recap - Plains

The Mission High School bulldogs faced the Plains Horsemen.  Both teams battled hard for their respective hometowns and Mission was able to gain an advantage early and hold on for a 33-0 victory.  Every geared up member of the football team had an opportunity to see the field.  The three seniors on the squad did a great job of leading the team early and encouraging their replacements late in the game.  Congrats to the student athletes who were able to demonstrate integrity, achieve excellence, work hard, gain respect and share responsibility.  Go DAWGS!
